The exhibition was divided in two parts: Leaving Europe and starting a new live in America. Both parts had many, many documents printed and as audibles of contemporary witnesses. Those made it rather easy to understand the motivations for leaving home and very often the family behind.
The children were most impressed by the inside of a typical emigration ship, showing the furnishing of the different classes.
