Greater Celandine (Chelidonium)

Greater Celandine is a perennial herb of poppy family native to Europe and Western Asia, now introduced widely in North America.

The whole plant is moderately toxic since it contains isoquinoline alkaloids. The effect of the fresh plant is analgesic, antimicrobial, oncostatic and a CNS sedative.

It grows in our garden and Friedrich reacts with a severe skin rash by just passing by with naked legs....therefore the plants on these pictures have to leave today.....:-/
